Monte Vista Christian School is a private Christian School for grades 6-12 in Santa Cruz County. One unique characteristic of this Silicon Valley area school is the availability of an on-campus equestrian program. This equestrian program serves students from the Gilroy, Morgan Hill, San Jose, Salinas, and Watsonville areas. Horseback riding lessons are offered before, during, and after school. Students who love to ride are excited to have the option to take part in horseback riding lessons instead of the traditional physical education class. This Bay Area equestrian program is run by the professional group Belmont Training Stable. Belmont Training Stable is on the campus of Monte Vista Christian School and includes two large horse arenas, horse bathing stations, a horse walker, and a classroom for inside instruction. Students have the option of taking beginning riding lessons, or more advanced instruction. Riders on the competitive level take part in many competitions throughout the year.
