Monte Vista Christian School is one of only a handful of schools in California with an equestrian program on campus. Students may take Horsemanship in place of PE class or as an elective. Monte Vista Christian School partners with Belmont Training Stable in order to offer not only horseback riding lessons for the Gilroy and surrounding areas, but horse boarding as well. This equestrian program near Morgan Hill, California offers a fabulous opportunity to introduce students to horses in a safe, fun environment. Offering lessons for beginners who have never seen a horse before, to the advanced, ‘A’ show rider, this equestrian center in Santa Cruz has a great group of horses and experienced, knowledgeable staff. Students must own an ASTM approved helmet and riding boots with a heel. Belmont Training Stable also offers fabulous summer camps with full day or half-day options, where students learn about horses and ride for hours each day.
