Parents looking for a comprehensive equestrian training center on the California central coast need look no further than Monte Vista Christian School. This picturesque school campus is nestled within the rolling hills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and thanks to its extensive fleet of buses, serves students from Salinas, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, San Jose, Watsonville, and Santa Cruz. Students in grades 6-12 are able to take part in the equestrian training program that is run by Belmont Training Stables. Beginner through advanced horseback riding lessons are offered for these students, and riding takes place before, during, and after school. For students who would like to ride their own horses, horse boarding is available. Belmont Training Stables includes two large, well-equipped horse arenas with jumps. Belmont frequently hosts weekend activities and competitions, as well as fun summer camps for grade school students who are interested in learning about the care and keeping of horses, and the basics of riding.
